New agent websites were launched on 10/9/2018. The below questions are meant to help you understand all of the changes. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to support. To use all new colors and images, make sure that your Real Agent app is up to date (version 2.20.0).

Why’d we update the sites?

The old agent sites were in need of an update. We decided to start from scratch to create a cleaner experience that would be easier to improve and change. Along the way we made some updates to the design and style, and added more options for customization.

What are the specific changes?

  • Entire site built on new code: the key pros are that the site is quicker, more responsive, easier for us to maintain, and easier for us to update as different feature requests come in.

  • More opportunities for lead capture: a contact form is always visible on a page, whether it be the “contact” button in the fixed navigation or a form on the page. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for someone to contact you at any point in their journey through the website.

  • Automatic exclusive listings: we have a new system in place that will find your exclusive listings from the IDX/MLS automatically and display them on your homepage if any are available. (Of note: this feature will only work if your IDX is connected to our search.)

  • Better IDX search: cleaner, faster, and much more responsive for different devices. Once you are in the search, the speed and responsiveness is really up-to-par with modern web browsing.

  • New colors, images, and better design: we’ve updated colors to increase legibility and give a more modern look. We’ve updated and added the images that you can select, to give you more options to best brand you. And lastly, we cleaned up a lot of the typography and spacing to help best represent your brand.

What’s coming next?

Support will be available for improvement suggestions or to report any bugs that might come up to our dev team. We are hoping to make big improvements to the services we provide you in the coming months, and these initial changes to the agent site will pave the way for those updates.

Do I need to change my web address on any of my marketing materials?

No, you will not need to update any of your marketing materials, as any link will redirect to the correct page on your updated website.

Is my URL the same? How will this impact me?

Your URL will be changing to homes.joinreal.com/agent-name. However, all of your previous links will work the same and redirect the user to the new URL.

For example, if someone goes to “www.joinreal.com/agent-name/cma” to use your Home Valuation Report, they will be redirected to “homes.joinreal.com/agent-name/cma”, which is the same page on your new website.

Can I use my own domain name for my Joinreal.com website?

Yes. Read here for exact directions.

What can I customize?

You can change all of the text, set the default search area for your IDX search, as well as set your color and cover photo. On your agent app, go to My Profile and select “My Website”. From here you can update the accent color, text on the page, cover photo, add testimonials and update your default search.

How do I customize my website?

On your agent app, go to My Profile, and select “My Website”. From here you can update the accent color, text on the page, cover photo, add testimonials and update your default search. To update your about and social accounts, go to My Profile and select “View and improve profile”.

How do I customize where my IDX searches by default?

In the website customization portal on your app, there is a tab called Listings. Here you can set up your default search criteria.

What happened to my old photo and color?

We have updated the photos and colors to reflect a more modern palette. Real blue remains the same!

What happened to my old website? I want it back!

If there is anything that you liked better about the old site, please let support know! We are open to making changes and improvements to the new site, even if it means bringing old things back.

What happened to the listings that I sent to support to be added to my site?

We have a new system in place that will find your exclusive listings from the idx/mls automatically and display them on your homepage if any are available. If you want one of your properties shown on your homepage that isn’t listed yet, let us know and we can add it.

As part of our referral program, Real gives you the option to include this on your website. If you’d like it turned off, go into your website customization page in the app and uncheck the box that says show agent referral link. Tap update, and after refreshing your website the button will be gone.

My contact form/CMA request form doesn’t work when I test it; what’s going on?

The form is built to recognize and reject existing leads or Real agents. It won’t accept your agent information as a lead or data that has previously been added to your crm. Try using some random details if you want to see it in action.

I don’t see the new options for photos or colors, what’s going on?

You probably need to update the app! Check out the Real Agent app in the app store to see if there is an available update for you. The version with the new website setup is 2.20.0.

If I find a bug or have a suggestion for the agent websites, who should I reach out to?

Please send the bug or suggestion to Support along with any other details that you think might be helpful (screenshots, page urls where bugs are found, context for the bug) and they will send it to our development team.
